Situated between the Secchia and Panaro rivers, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, the city boasts a UNESCO heritage of humanity site (the cathedral, Piazza Grande and Torre Ghirlandina) as well as being a former capital of the Este duchy. Modena is the home of big names in cars such as Ferrari, Maserati and Pagani, as well as excellent food and wine with its specialities known and loved all over the world. One of the Italian provinces with the most products with a protected designation of origin (PDO) or protected geographical indication (PGI), it is the perfect destination for foodies. From the plains to the mountains, in every period of the year, Modena and the surrounding area offers art, nature and sport lovers wonderful opportunities to make new discoveries and have fun or just sit back and relax.
