Teacher training

Teacher training

A teacher training course programme for teachers of all schools to investigate the visual arts and provide tools and new skills to bring the experience of art into the classroom.

TRAINING COURSES FOR THE 2022/2023 SCHOOL YEAR
In addition to the usual guided tours of the exhibitions, between January and April the School of Advanced Studies will hold a series of open lessons called “Art, Us and Technology in the Third Millennium”. The Biblioart-kit loan service is new this year: three special teaching kits containing materials and creative ideas for classroom activities. Municipality of Modena partners MEMO – Multicentro Educativo Sergio Neri can issue participation certificates to the teachers who take part in the training courses. These certificates are valid for teachers’ ongoing education. To request a certificate, register on the training PORTAL: https://www.comune.modena.it/memo/formazione

BIBLIOART-KIT – A NEW SERVICE FOR TEACHING ART

A service to support art education and nursery, primary and middle school teachers.
The Biblioart kits, which can be borrowed during the school year, contain three different FMAV teaching experiences. They are a revised and expanded version of some kits already tried out in the past. They contain stimuli and activities that teachers can use freely in the classroom: videos and multimedia contents, prototypes, models and ideas for teaching projects based on the use of images. There is a specific training session for each kit involving a presentation of the various materials in the kit and a workshop activity for teachers. The Biblioart kits can be taken out on a free loan for a three-week period. While the training sessions are an opportunity for teachers, they do not have to be followed in order to take out the kit. UNUSUAL VISIONS
Photography is a question of points of view. The kit draws inspiration from photographers Luigi Ghirri and Franco Fontana to stimulate a first approach to photography as a means to observe our everyday environment and be wowed by new and unusual visions.

WORKS ON PAPER
How many different types of paper are there and how do artists use them? Inspired by the work of some great artists of the twentieth-century – Kurt Schwitters, Lucio Fontana, Enrico Castellani – but also by the teaching experiences of Bruno Munari, the kit proposes a series of activities to observe paper and create new works without the use of pencils or colours.

FAIRY TALE PICTURE CARDS
Devised as an extension of the “Fairy Tale Picture Cards” and “Picture Cards to Get Your Imagination Going” workshops, the kit contains picture cards of three different fairy tales and cues to create different activities for different age groups.

LESSONS: ART, US AND TECHNOLOGY IN THE THIRD MILLENNIUM
A series of open lessons at the FMAV School of Advanced Studies with the 2022-2023 exhibition artists. All the sessions are free of charge and take place at AGO – Fabbriche culturali.

GUIDED TOURS TO THE EXHIBITIONS
Guided tours conducted by the curators and FMAV education department for a closer look at the exhibition themes and the artists’ research. The visual cues given by the exhibitions are linked to other disciplines, expanding the themes at issue and suggesting new ways of interpreting them.
