Like the Tide – A Women Story, is the project by 27-year-old artist Chiara Negrello, member of Women Photograph, curated by Emilia Jacobacci and GiorgiaPadovani, independent art historians and curators based in Modena and Milan, ex-students of the ICON course for Curators of Contemporary Images promoted by the FMAV School of Advanced Studies.Like the Tide will be open to the public in Via Giardini 160 until 30 September 2022. The project by Chiara Negrello recounts women’s role in society through history and the lives of clam fisherwomen in the Po delta through a selection of photographic images and video materials presented for the first time on occasion of the festival.
Chiara Negrello(1995) studied photography at LABA in Florence.In 2020 she attended the ICP in New York on a Reuters scholarship.In 2021 she became a member of Women Photograph and was selected for the Eddie Adams Workshop XXXIV.Her photographic and video works have been published in The New York Times, National Geographic, D la Repubblica, MarieClaire, Der Spiegel and Focus.In March 2022, Chiara was nominated for the Leica Oskar Barnack newcomer award. www.chiaranegrello.com .
Emilia Jacobacci and Giorgia Padovani are independent art historians and curators based in Modena and Milan respectively. In 2020, they attended the ICON course for Curators of the Contemporary Image at the FMAV School of Advanced Studies and started to work together on exhibition and curatorship projects.
