In a not precisely defined future, a mysterious research centre hosts analyses and experiments on interstellar space. Asteroids and stones coming from other galaxies are studied there, as well as images of quasars and faraway galaxies. One stone, seemingly extra-terrestrial in origin, is preserved in the research centre like a precious relic. In order to discover its origin, a mission is undertaken beyond the limits of the solar system.

Future perfect is part of the project “The Quintessence”, a winner of the seventh edition of the Italian Council call for applications. Italian Council is an initiative of the Italian Ministry of Culture for the promotion of Italian art.

The project has received the support of Kingston University London in the framework of a partnership with FMAV Fondazione Modena Arti Visive. At the end of the project, the latter will acquire the works produced, which will enter the Foundation’s collections. FMAV boasts an important network of international partners, both in Europe and in the United States: Nottingham University, the Department of Physics and Astronomy at University College London, the Pratt Institute in New York City, the Max Planck Institut für Extraterrestrische Physik in Munich, Bruxelles’ Boghossian Foundation-Villa Empain, the Galerie La Box École nationale supérieure d’art in Bourges, and the MAMbo Museum in Bologna.
