Fondazione Modena Arti Visive forms a cultural district with its set of venues that take up the legacy of the three institutions merged into it – Galleria Civica di Modena, Fondazione Fotografia di Modena and Museo della Figurina. It proposes and organizes exhibitions and advanced training courses, workshops, performances and conferences while promoting the collections that it manages and building networks on a local and a wider scale in order to enrich the community where it works.
The exhibition programmes go hand in hand with the School of Advanced Studies activities. The education department offers workshops aimed at children, families, adults and teachers: you can take part in short courses for art and photography enthusiasts, amateurs and professionals either on site or online; you can take a specialization course in the contemporary image such as the ICON course for curators or the annual course and modules on artistic practices; lastly, you can follow workshops with the Italian and international artists featured in the exhibitions, curators and photography experts.
