On 15 September 2023 the exhibition of the twelfth Davide Vignali Prize, promoted by FMAV together with the Vignali family and the Istituto d’Arte Venturi in Modena and sponsored by the Emilia-Romagna regional government, opens at Palazzo Santa Margherita.
Established in 2011 by Marisa and Doriano Vignali, who felt the urgent need to react to the tragic and premature passing of their son, the intention of the prize has always been to revive Davide’s energy, by evoking his humanity, vivacity and desire to do something important.
Every year, participants are asked to send an original artistic project, on any subject, comprising a series of photographs, video or installation. The images must be accompanied by a short presentation of the central idea developed in the work. Every year, Fondazione Modena Arti Visive hosts an exhibition to present the prize-winning projects and a selection of the best works in the competition.
For the 2022/2023 prize, the jury of sector experts has awarded: Milo Spaggiari (Chiericiart school, ReggioEmilia), 1st prize for Comizi d’amor proprio; Jacopo Verri (Blaise Pascal high school, ReggioEmilia) 2nd prize for L’araba fenice; Camilla Bondioli (Venturi art school, Modena) 3rd prize for Memorie del passato; Roxana Gabriela Martau (Venturi art school, Modena) Venturi prize for Se spegni la luce, mi noti; finally, two highly commendeds to Federica Benevelli (Chierici art school, ReggioEmilia) for Mi dissocio and Diamante Soncini (Blaise Pascal high school, ReggioEmilia) for Il nostro futuro.
